IAMA’s collection contains works by notable Chinese masters from the late Ming dynasty to paintings by living contemporary artists. The pieces give a glimpse into traditional Chinese painting styles as well as an exploration into several of the more modern art movements that dominated the Chinese art world in the 20th century. These includes more traditional works done in ink-and-wash and splashed-ink techniques portraying plum blossoms, landscapes, figural, and bird-and-flower works. IAMA is also proud to include contemporary works that include abstract works as well as thickly applied floral oil paintings. Qi Baishi, Li Keran, and Zhang Daqian are among the many prolific artists displayed.
