The Beauty of Change

RSVP here.

tendergold @ IAMA presents THE BEAUTY OF CHANGE - featuring original artwork by Joset Medina with a special performance by an ensemble from San Francisco's Gay Men's Chorus.

"Joset Medina’s message – to those who haven’t been able to discover the therapeutic effects of art and its role in guiding us through psychological changes – is an invitation. He invites people to abandon themselves to creativity, to not be afraid to dream, and to embrace beauty in all forms – to hasten inner personal change.

People’s ability to accept, and even artificially trigger change, can be positive in many ways, and Medina is very interested in this aspect of visual language. Art, he suggests, is a path into the mind, the heart and the being; it is synonymous with the experience of being alive itself, and Medina seems to be painting the idea that being alive is also consciousness, a heightened awareness that change is upon us (and others). With his emotionally-charged visions of ancestral memories, present beauties of nature, where perhaps human beings will be more sensitive to their environment, and towards art, spirituality and change, Joset Medina is a kind of clairvoyant, painting the future of human kind." (Deianira Tolema of Drailed Mag)

Awakening the Senses: Chinese Floral Workshop (May 5)

With guidance from the Chinese Floral Arts Foundation Taiwan and USA-Chapter, IAMA is proud to embrace a culture and technique that evolved through centuries to now stand uniquely as its own. Whether small enough to fit into the palm of your hand or large enough to decorate a grand hall, the art form gives representation to the delicate union of spirit and life form, and of the journey to understanding mankind.

Come early for a special tea ceremony at 12:00pm or 2:00pm and take time to view our main collections of masterworks at IAMA - included with workshop fee.

Two workshops on May 5 & 6 from 3:30pm-5:00pm. Each participant is $35.
