Lightspace Gallery

Since the Museum’s inception in 2011, IAMA has presented a permanent collection from Asian and European masters of the past. Looking ahead into our own future, we wanted to shed light on current perceptions of art and created a special exhibit dedicated to the modern art of our era. The quarterly rotating exhibit, Light Space, was conceived thereafter beginning in September of 2018. The works of experienced and established artists have been selected for Light Space, displaying works from photography to mixed media, sculpting, and installation art.

INSTALLATION electrons (1).JPG

Artist’s work explores the connections between ideas that shape our understanding of the outer scientific world and our inner psychological world. Her installation “Electrons” engages the audience to interact with the piece. Viewers are given the freedom to move the blocks on magnetic walls and create the patterns of their choice. “My inspiration was drawn from the unpredictable motion of electrons. The unpredictable micro particle and the inapproachable macro space have symbiosis on their mystery and organic visual forms. The agency to move the blocks on magnetic walls creates unpredictable patterns beyond my control” (Momo Yuntong Wu).

In her artwork “Moon and Tides” Momo interprets the interaction between the earth and the moon and how it influences the tides. Similarly, this gravity causes the same side of the moon to face earth.
