Marketing INternship


The Marketing Intern supports the marketing department with development of Museum communications and social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), digital asset organization, and in-house design work (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).


 Education: Must be currently enrolled in undergraduate/graduate program or be recently graduated.

Experience: One year of prior experience working with social media, writing, and/or administrative duties; or equivalent education in same. Must be familiar with digital design and have the ability to create branded materials for the Museum.


Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) and experience working with the same

  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills

  • Experience in the area of the non-profit/museum and/or tourism and attractions sectors desired

  • Self-motivation and the ability to be an adaptable member of a small team

  • Able to work independently with limited supervision

  • Keen eye for design and photography

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and Google drive

  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop and InDesign)

  • Photography experience a plus

  • Experience with Google Ads and Facebook ads is a plus

  • Experience with website design is a plus


Essential Job Functions:

  • Organize and maintain digital files for easy access

  • Assist Marketing staff with social media planning and posting

  • Assist with website content creation and maintenance

  • Assist with answering social media messages and inquiries

  • Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions & Benefits:

  • Flexible schedule Tuesday through Sunday 9:15am-5:15pm

  • Interns should be able to commit to at least 20 hours per week

  • Travel stipend of $10/day provided

  • Credit may be provided upon successful completion of the internship, depending on university requirements

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds

  • Normal office conditions apply, including repetitive wrist and arm movement and long periods of sitting or standing
